It has been some time since I have posted a blog here, as I've been in mourning, you see. A great and true friend has come to the end of it's cycle on this planet and crossed over the river Styx into Hades for all of eternity, and maybe a bit longer.
I couldn't begin to tell you the adventures we've shared together. Pals just doesn't seem adequate to describe it, lovers, a lot too much. Let's just say we were mates. We've traveled to several different countries, countless bars and shady establishments. We ran from danger, we ran towards danger,we did everything on two feet. To paraphrase Hemingway, we could "out-fight, fuck, fish, write, or hunt almost any m*tha'f*cka on the planet." A trusted and valued companion and confidant, we shall not soon see the likes...again.
AND NOW A MOMENT OF SILENCE PLEASE
(Please feel free to stick on an Elton John album after the moment of silence. I feel this will only show respect to the dearly departed.)
It is with a heavy heart that I announce the death of my beloved...Converse Chuck Taylor All-Stars.
May they Rest in Pieces.
A bit of good news! Right before my Chucks went to Valhalla for good(by way of the rubbish bin across from some pub in Covent Garden), they got to meet the next generation. They had a quick chat, you know, a quick tête à tête, as the old guard passed on some quick but valuable lessons to the younger Chuck, Chuck Jr, let's call him. It was a sombre moment or quiet reflection for those present and I don't think anyone would be ashamed for me to mention it, tears were spilled. Thinking of this moment I cannot write anymore for the salty discharge falling from my eyes is falling onto my keyboard.
It seems to me, like you lived you're life, like a candle in the wind. |
You're candle burned out long before, you're legend ever did. |
Good-bye my old friend. I will see you in Stovokor!
